About Jenn
I’m Jennifer Tatroe, the “Jenn” behind From Jenn. I’m a small-town-bred writer and artist now living in the sprawling city of Los Angeles. I’m old enough to have an adult son, to be getting a few gray hairs, and to be a little scared of TikTok. I’m young enough to consider myself a digital native, to eat pink cotton candy, and to still think I have a shot at changing the world.
After relocating from Colorado to California in 2019, I stepped back from my creative handmade business to learn and write about the topics that matter most to me: slow living, mental health, mindfulness, creativity, and happiness. When the pandemic hit, my plans for the future fell apart in more ways than one. In 2021, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I discovered I was suffering from complex PTSD. I'm currently building a very different life than the one I anticipated when I first moved to LA, managing my recovery and grieving the love of my life, who passed away from his illness in 2024.
I'm figuring out what it takes to be happy through stress, crisis, and mental health challenges. Join me every week as I share my personal experiences, how I'm doing, and what I've discovered on the slow path toward mindfulness, creativity, love, joy, and all the good things that come together to create a beautiful life.
Why pay to subscribe?
27 Flower Street is named after Gertrude Stein’s famous salons at 27 Rue de Fleurus in Paris. By upgrading your subscription to the Salon level, you’re becoming a part of our community of like-minded souls living on our own terms.
While your free subscription keeps us in touch on a monthly basis, pointing you to my best videos each month and offering you thoughtful letters inspired by my slow, creative life, a paid subscription really brings you into the fold. For the cost of a cappuccino at my favorite local café, you’ll receive much more regular letters in your inbox—4x as much content as free subscribers get. You’ll also get a custom pin, occasional snail mail surprises, and ad-free access to my videos.
Salon members also pay my salary (such as it is.) Engaging with micro-patrons like yourself is quickly becoming one of the only sustainable paths for creatives in the modern economy. You literally make art happen.
